Service Description

Math can be a scary subject for many students because it’s one that they rarely get to experience and “feel” in the same way as they may in everyday conversation with language or when observing an experiment in science class. CLC tutors unlock the practical applications of mathematical computation and modeling, while presenting foundational building blocks of mathematical theory to give students the confidence to succeed. Our tutors are especially trained and supervised by the director, Mrs. Patricia Felton, to create a personalized learning approach for each student’s scientific development. Tutors are trained to concentrate on guiding students through an introduction of foundational scientific concepts in the following per grade level curriculum subtopics: measurement and data, number and operations in base ten, operations and algebraic thinking, fractions, geometry, tiling with multiplication and division, comparing decimals, addition and subtraction of fractions with denominators of 10 and 100, volume of rectangular prisms, writing numerical expressions, and use grouping symbols to evaluate and interpret numerical expressions.
